2020 and onwards

Obviously things are a bit strange at the moment. One upside to this is how connected everyone is becoming- not that we weren’t connected before, it’s just now it seems much more relevant to facebook, twitter, instagram etc. whereas ‘before’ it was more like a novelty. For once our digital world has a real purpose and music lends itself very well to this and there are some great new ways people are coming up with to collaborate, watch and listen. So like many musicians, i’m currently in lockdown which means more music is getting made. So expect to hear some in the coming months.

There is also a ‘proper’ album, scheduled for release sometime this spring which currently is still going ahead. It’s on Wist Rec it’s a double album based on Paul Auster’s novel ‘In The Country of Last Things.’

‘The Last Things’ is a new album coming to Wist Rec early next year. This is a double album (plus more) so expect a lot of new music. More details to follow, in the meantim the label have posted a preview on Soundcloud.

Fragments from the forthcoming multi-disc release “The Last Things” by Phil Tomsett & the Inventors of Aircraft. Wist Rec 29 takes a psychogeographic tour of Paul Auster’s ‘In the Country of Last Things’ though set in a small village to which our protagonist ventures to. Released in a jackdaw edition in 2020.

This is a collaboration with IAN HAWGOOD and will be released on HOME NORMAL at the end of 2019

NEW ALBUM- THE OTHER ALBUM

I have another album set to be released this year

with WIST REC

No details as yet, but it will be a very interesting release. It won’t be out until the end of 2019-start 2020. As mentioned, The Inventors of Aircraft are returning and will be a part of this album as well as other projects I’m hoping to get out this year.
